Rising with a spiraling flow of upward energy, Vata is dynamic from every angle. I first heard the word “vata” in a yoga class several years ago. My teacher mentioned that among the ideas associated with the word are “movement, wind/breath, life force.” At the time I thought this would be a lovely thoughtform to accompany Ruah, this sculpture’s companion piece whose title is also an ancient word for “breath.”
He was sculpted as a companion piece to Ruah, though he certainly can be enjoyed all by his lonesome. Riding horse in type, energetic Vata is not strictly breed-specific and will look terrific in a full range of colors and patterns.
Vata was sculpted to be 16hh at 1/10th scale and stands 11.5 inches tall, a small “traditional” scale model. This resin is hollow cast in white polyurethane resin, shore hardness 70, with wire reinforcements in its legs by BearCast Molding and Casting.
Vata was first released in the autumn of 2013.
